The aim of the film is to increase understanding about what people can do to help others. Promote a culture where suicide can and should be okay to talk about. Empower us all to make change.
The Film will tell the story of Mental Health Advocate and Keynote Speaker Joshua Deegan along with telling the story of others who have experienced Mental Health.
The film is being produced by Michael Benson Productions. Michael Benson Productions work across Corporate, private, event filming, music video production and film platforms and are currently working on a commissioned documentary concerning events of 1921/22 and the War of Independence.
Michael Benson Productions have produced material for Wexford County Council, Wicklow County Council, Bord Bia, Bank of Ireland Enterprise Week, The 1798 Vinegar Hill Battle re-enactment in association with Enniscorthy Castle and The National 1798 Rebellion Centre.
Michael Benson Productions have produced numerous music videos for various artists including Wicklow singer/songwriter Luan Parle and was engaged in the production of a documentary charting her return to music following a period of time away from the spotlight.
How this all started:
Joshua Deegan, from Mullingar, is a twenty-year-old who, in the face of adversity has opened up about his personal battles with mental illness. Over the past three years he has subsequently gained a reputation for himself as one of Irelands leading Youth Mental Health Advocates and Keynote Speaker.
Joshua has received many awards relating to his work in this area with the most prestigious being that of the Garda Youth Awards.
Joshua has delivered talks in schools, youth clubs and at events such as Cycle Against Suicide, DCU Mental Health Week.
